Tour of Toowoomba & Warwick 23 May 2011
Following the success of their tour to Toowoomba in 2009, Phunktional returns to the region to deliver their high energy, cutting edge issues focussed performances: Love Drunk and Who Stole the Sole. These high impact explosive theatrical journeys engage our youth in a way that not only helps them reflect on their own behaviour but gives them the know how to assess, acknowledge and address broader social issues within their own communities.
Love Drunk and Who Stole the Sole deal with youth culture and relationships and encourage young people to make positive choices and build healthy, respectful relationships.
Love Drunk has toured nationally for six years reaching over 90,000 young people between the ages of 14 and 22. Who Stole the Sole is Phunktional’s new performance developed for students age 12 and up and for parents.
The performances are harm minimisation tools, specifically designed to raise awareness and instigate discussions in a safe environment.
Phunktional combines breakdance and pop music to deliver a captivating show performed with true to life characters that have the voices of today’s teenagers. The show lends itself to the corridors and classrooms of schools where the performances take place.

Show takes aim at cyberbullies
YEAR eight and nine students at Horsham College learnt a ‘Phunktional’ approach to cyberbullying during a performance on Monday.
Melbourne-based arts company Phunktional performed their show ‘Who Stole the Sole?’, which deals with issues including sending pictures over the internet and mobile phones, and the complicated nature of the internet.
Well-being co-ordinator Maureen Ryan said the performance was aimed at educating students about what they could do to stop cyberbullying. She said it was great to have the group back at the college.
“The students were held spellbound,” she said.
